The village of San Miguel Escobar, near where I live, was hit hard with 70 families losing houses. The local parish decided to collect donations and take action themselves to rebuild houses. All labor is donated by the villagers themselves. They receive no money from government agencies or NGO’s. I was very impressed with the project and with Father Walter who has organized it all. I have received some money from friends that I have passed on to the people. I have met some of them and they are very appreciative. For those who donate I am sending out email updates of the progress. So far 15 houses have been built.
